Description
The Queen of Speed: Concorde British Airways Edition
Capture the elegance of the only successful supersonic passenger airliner in history. The Aérospatiale/BAC Concorde was not just a plane; it was a symbol of technological triumph, capable of crossing the Atlantic in under three and a half hours at Mach 2.04. This kit allows you to recreate the sleek, needle-nosed bird that flew on the edge of space, carrying passengers in ultimate luxury while outrunning the sunset. It is a tribute to an era where speed was the ultimate goal of civil aviation.
The SKYCRAFT tooling for this model is exceptionally precise, essential for capturing the complex curves of the Concorde's aerodynamic design. The fuselage features the correct slender profile required for supersonic flight, blending seamlessly into the stunning ogival delta wings. Key engineering features are replicated with care, including the four underwing engine nacelles housing the Rolls-Royce/SNECMA Olympus 593 turbojets. The model also offers the option to display the famous "droop nose" in either the flight position (up) or the landing/taxi position (down), adding a dynamic element to your display.
This edition features the iconic British Airways livery, synonymous with the aircraft's golden years. The decal sheet includes the majestic "Chatham Dockyard" Union Flag tail fin design and the classic "Speedbird" ribbon. Specific registration markings for G-BOAC (Alpha Charlie), the flagship of the fleet, are included. The decals are designed to sit perfectly against the aircraft's specialized high-reflectivity white paint, which was used on the real machine to dissipate heat generated by air friction at supersonic speeds. A timeless centerpiece for any collection.
